It was a great time spending with Shirly and Jessie, two lovely couple to be married this year. We spend 2 hours at Main Street Unionville for their pre-wedding photography. It was not the first time for A.Vision Studios shooting at the famous historical site – Main Street at Unionville, as long as it is a popular tourism site, and photo shooting area, A.Vision Studios decided to share our photo shooting experience with you.
For people taking wedding photography, or photos for commercial, you need to get a photography permit from the City of Markham for Historic Areas and Parks. You can call 905-477-7000 ext.6930/2300, and the rate is $122.5 per hour.
There is one exception for the wedding or commercial photo taking and without a permit, which the photographer is a full-time student, and shooting for a school project. Thus, if you are shooting your photography school work at Main Street Unionville, remember to bring your student card.
Vehicles are not allowed to park on the street, however, you can find free parking behind merchants on the east side of Main Street Unionville. There are a lot of free parking, so no need to worry about it.
The Main Street Unionville is a historical and tourism place founding in 1794. It is famous for the European architecture, as well as the pubs, parks, and restaurants. Besides its general historical European view, A.Vision Studios has carefully chose 3 landmark shooting place for you.
- Old Unionville Church. (150 Main Street, L3R 2G9)
Built in 1879, by the same architect of Casa Loma. It was used to be the local veterans’ hall during World War II, and the steeple of the Unionville Old Church is engraved with names of local veterans of WWII.
- Millennium Bandstand (154 Main Street, L3R 2G9)
The Millennium Bandstand at Main Street Unionville was built in the year 2000, it is a small park and plaza for people meeting. There are music concerts every Thursday night and Sunday at Bandstand. Please be aware of the date and time for photo shooting.
- Unionville Train Station

The train station at Main Street Unionville is one of the oldest trains station in Toronto, which was built in 1871, and has great historical value. From the point of the train station, you can also see an endless track.
